(21) Father and Mother.

Thus will you be like a son to the Most High, and he will be more tender to you than a mother. (Sir 4:10)

For I will sing the LORD’S renown. Oh, proclaim the greatness of our God! The Rock - how faultless are his deeds, how right all his ways! A faithful God, without deceit, how just and upright he is! Yet basely has he been treated by his degenerate children, a perverse and crooked race! Is the LORD to be thus repaid by you, O stupid and foolish people? Is he not your father who created you? Has he not made you and established you? (Deut 32:3-6)

I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him. (Luke 10:21-22)

On that day you will ask in my name, and I do not tell you that I will ask the Father for you. For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have come to believe that I came from God. (John 16:26-27)

Now may God himself, our Father, and our Lord Jesus direct our way to you, (1 Thess 3:11)

Do not be afraid, for God has come to you only to test you and put his fear upon you, lest you should sin. (Ex 20:20)

for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the mind’s thoughts. (1 Chr 28:9)

The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked, and the one who loves violence His soul hates. (Ps 11:5)

Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any [n]hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. (Ps 139:23-24)

A wise son makes his father glad, but a fool of a man despises his mother. (Prov 15:20)

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? (1 Cor 6:19)
