  • At that time Jesus said in reply, «I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him. «Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, 16 and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your selves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.» (Matt 11:25-30)

  • And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for: «God opposes the proud but bestows favor on the humble.» So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. (1 Pet 5:5-6)

  • Have the same regard for one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly; do not be wise in your own estimation. Do not repay anyone evil for evil; be concerned for what is noble in the sight of all. (Rom 12:16-17)

  • If there is any encouragement in Christ, any solace in love, any participation in the Spirit, any compassion and mercy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, with the same love, united in heart, thinking one thing. Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves, (Phil 2:1-3)

  • Let no one, then, pass judgment on you in matters of food and drink or with regard to a festival or new moon or sabbath. These are shadows of things to come; the reality belongs to Christ. Let no one disqualify you, delighting in self-abasement and worship of angels, taking his stand on visions, inflated without reason by his fleshly mind, and not holding closely to the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and bonds, achieves the growth that comes from God. (Col 2:16-19)

  • But the law does not depend on faith; rather, «the one who does these things will live by them.» Christ ransomed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written, «Cursed be everyone who hangs on a tree,» (Col 3:12-13)
